Latin-4th Grade—Q3W4

  • Latin-4th Grade—Q3W4
    • Homework
    • Dear 4th Grade Parents,
    • As an inflected language, Latin uses word endings to change meaning.  For example, am-o is I love, but ama-s is you love
    • To add the endings, the student first needs to find the stem, the common element in all the forms of the word.
    • The Chapter 4 Quiz assessed students’ mastery of the process of finding the stems of 1st Declension nouns.
    • To maintain this skill, they will be practicing it in the homework.
    • Further, they will be using those stems to practice the beginning steps of adding the endings.
    • The formal name of this process is declining or declension.  The chants needed for the process are named like this: D(eclension) 1, D2, D3, etc.
    • Notes:
      • In section A, students are required to cross off the words in the word bank, to help ensure that students are basing their translation in the word bank.
      • Please note that Section C, like Section B, is a daily excercise, and will require erasing

Dear 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade parents,  Last post/email, I described one of the core Latin skills we have been work...
